I did do a search and most of the threads ended up in an argument about DIY screen replacement vs going to somewhere..

I know there are loads of places in town to get it done, but I don't know where is good! Does anyone have any recommendations? I've dealt with the CCIT on south terrace before and found them very good, however i'm not sure if they deal with iphones. I'l have to give them a ring in the morning.

    I'm guessing it'l set me back around €120 ish? It's for a 4s.

    Thanks.

I rang around a while back and any of the phone shops like Phonemaster or Techmaster don not use genuine Apple Parts nor are they certified by Apple as a repair centre. They are cheap, but they're not legit.

But I thought Apple did not repair displays etc for iphones and iPads, just give you a refurb iphone instead. I think all legit Apple service providers do not really repair iPhones and I think the only parts they can get legit is headphones and chargers, but I'm not 100% sure on that just my experience.

There are 3 official Apple service providers in Cork:

You could call and ask them.

    Thanks for the responses guys.

I rang Cork Computer Clinic, they told me it would cost €80 and it would take a day. In my experience with them this could easily be a day and a half..

I rang Repairit in Douglas, they said €99 and could do it while I wait so I went with them. It took around 40 mins and they were very nice and very professional. I actually can't recommend them enough, the screen is perfect, there's no bleeding from the backlight or anything like that, it's as good as new :).
