fishing laws?

Hi ive recently started angling on a well knowen salmon river in co.waterford. Just wondering the laws on salmon/trout fishing!

Try posting your question on another forum, perhaps the Co. Waterford or an Anglers thread, if there is one.
Unless some ES lads here are also anglers who fish in that area then great, but there may not be any.

Also I do not think checking fishing licence's is one of the roles of The Gardai, God knows they have to deal with enough real crimes.

I would advise you to contact inland fisheries Ireland. They have some responsibility in relation to enforcement of fisheries Byelaws etc.. And I'm sure they would be happy to point you in the right direction.
