I'd start off by ordering 18mg anyway. It's always a good starting point.

I went with 12 to be on the safe side, my plan is to wean myself off nicotine altogether anyway, thanks.

Might be no harm to get a bottle of 18mg to have on standby. Just in case you don't get the nic hit you want at first or for when you're having a few drinks

Ill see how it goes anyway, I love smoking but when I really cane it I get a splitting headache so that's always made me a light smoker, thanks.

I try and stick around 12mg and started on 12, I transitioned from smokes ok but still had a slight craving for about 3 days. After the 3 days no problems at all and going to make another step down to 6 hopefully. I must be off smokes a month now

Start with 18 and if it's too much nic go down to 11. Important thing is to stop the craving for a cig.
At first you might find that you vape more than you smoked but don't worry that passes and you find a balance. Next thing you notice is you don't think about vaping the way you did fags, you know how in the middle of something you get a craving for a fag, doesn't happen with vaping but when your idle vaping becomes a sort of worry beads.
Keep in mind that smoke, not nic is the killer, stay away from smoking with whatever nic level it takes.
Droping down from high nic is much easier than switching from smoking. Once the switch is made it's up to you if you want to continue vaping as a passtime or drop it altogether.
All about forming new habits hopefully healthier ones.
    Good luck with it.

Great stuff thanks, do the majority smoke tobacco flavours or is everyone different?

Most use fruity/sweet flavours AND everyone's different.

No reason you can't like both fruity AND tobacco flavours, but there's been a limited selection of nice tobaccos in comparison to the many thousands of fruity concoctions.

Ha ha, some of the juices I thought that were nice when I started taste like shoite now :-) Also the opposite is true so do not buy in bulk until you really know what you like.

My cooking has changed as well, i now find what I used to cook is too salty or too much garlic/chilli. I can taste subtle flavors now so can reduce the strong flavors.

Not so good is that I can smell a fart from at least 100 meters from me, the early flight out of Cork to Amsterdam smells bad! Never noticed before :-(

How long did it take you folks to get the "Black Lung"?

I'm on e-cigs over a week and was expecting some mouldy phlegms, but nothing has come up yet. In fact the regular morning phlegms have disappeared altogether...

Hmmm... does that worry you? Years of tar still trapped in your lungs?

not particularly. never even thought about it until now. think of it this way. it'll come out when it comes out. at least you arent adding to it :)

i had it for a few days but it seems to be gone now. a GP i know told me not everyone will cough the black stuff when they give up the tar - he did offer me a hypothesis as to why, but all i took away from it was 'everyone's different'.
