Hey I am getting married early 2014 and was looking for a function room in cork each hotel is working out about 3000

We are having a small wedding wit meal just for family after and then having a reception evening for about 100 people

Would anybody have any suggestions that let you cater it yourself but still have it all done up like a wedding in a big hotel

We were looking at Fernhill golf club does anybody have any experience with this place and idea of costs and if they allow you to cater yourself

any other ideas I'm refusig to pay 3000 for sausages and sandwiches its a joke

Maybe try Fota House, the one on the grounds of the wildlife park, not the hotel.

Flemings do small groups, not sure if they have room for 100, give them a call.

You could try other golf course club houses. Fota sheraton golf clubhouse.
A would say a lot of hotels would let you hire a function room and cater yourself, depending on their other bookings. They would probably prefer you to use their bar though otherwise they will make no money from it.

Not sure what religion you are (if any) but there are some nice church halls around that could be decorated.

You could try gallery spaces... If there are private art galleries near you, ask them for the venue for an afternoon.
