open power source fuse

    Going to wire an rpm gauge to my 95 starlet
    i know the black wire has to be grounded
    green wire to negative battery pole
    and red wire to an open power source fuse

    Which fuse is an open power source????and would i have to use crocodile or spade clips?fella i got the tach from said he just had the wire wrapped around a screw but i cant figure out how he managed it..and he refuses to show or tell

    Green to the coil, not the battery, that's what the black (earth) is for.

    Redwire should be fused and connected to +12v

    He probably had the ground wrapped around a screw

    Red to ignition usually.

    I'd say tap off the radio supply for +ve.
    At least if you bollix that up you probably won't damage anything essential.

    Red wire to a +12v supply (+12v when the key is turned, test with a bulb and a bit of wire).

    Green wire to the coil -ve terminal

    Black wire to anything on the chassis/body, bare metal, look for a bolt or screw that may have earth wires connected already.

    Got sorted.have it wired to clocks and light is all set up.running perfect on keys and ligjts
