    Hi all!

I have a problem, and have had it for years. I have size 5/5.5 feet but very very skinny ankles.

I can never buy a pair of boots that fit properly, I have gone for styles that slouch to try and get past the problem but I am now looking for a pair of smart/casual black leather ones.

If anyone knows of any styles that I should look for or any shops that sell this then please please please help! :D

Your post found the right responder!
I am obssessed with shoes and boots. I spend around an hour a day just looking at them online and I can tell you now that online is the best place to make decisions about what you like/need -
you have the time and comfort to do it, minus the on-the-spot frustration you get in
physical shops (especially here in Ireland where variety is seriously limited).

Slouch boots, as you've mentioned are great for disguising skinny ankles.
Also are mid-calf length boots, which are maddenly hard to find in shops because shop stock is dominated by ballet flats, mental looking wedges, too-high stilettos, plimsolls and flat, flat boots :(

For any boots that sit too low on the ankle, you should balance out your legs with socks - slouched down, they can look great poking out the top of boots, plus,
they're IN this season! It's what I do.
Charcoal grey, light grey, chocolate brown, beige and of course black all look well with most boots and matching them up to your tights/leggings looks good.
I've been known to wear legwarmers over boots on occassion too.

Amazon have an enormous selection and you should also Google what you want ie; black mid-calf length boots (in Google Images) will turn up a nice big selection, leading you to the relevent website (with their multiple angles, images and ZOOM feature,
    oh happy days :))

Sorry I'm unable to link you to all the sites I use (too many in my Shoes folder) so i'll just type a few instead,
you can copy and paste to your browser:

    New Look
    Office Shoes
    Spartoo.eu
    Treds.co.uk
    Cloggs.co.uk
    Alltheshoes.co.uk
    Mrshoes.co.uk
    Sarenza.co.uk
    Soyoushoes.co.uk
    Butyk.co.uk
    Rubbersole.co.uk
    Daisystreet.co.uk
    Deepsfootwear.co.uk
    Discountshoestore.co.uk (owned by Barratts)
Pricelesshoes.co.uk (owned by Barratts also and I've been able to return shoes to Barratts from both these)
    Barratts

Spend time looking online and get to know what you want that way.
Save your preferences in a dedicated folder and keep looking back to decide.
If going for a purchase consider a size up from your usual size
    - allow for insoles and socks (!)

    Happy camping!

Sorry about the size of the pics - I'm unable to make them smaller!
I copied the images which were much, much smaller but they appeared like this on my post!
These pics don't do them justice.

Fly London 'Yari' boots - black, smart/casual and mid-calf length with height-giving comfortable wedge! :) This is what you need!
    Available on Amazon.
If interested, Google the style and shop around for best price.

    Fly London 'Yeddo' boots

Fly 'Yaki'. Nice biker-style boot. All Fly boots come in a dozen colours and finishes, this one is even in teal :) and camel.

The above styles are what to look out for anyway.
Dunnes ran a similar line for the past five years or so, probably will this year again, around €25.

I have two pairs of Fly sandals, one really summery pair and the other are a black wedge which I'll wear most of the winter with opaques (and black socks!), great quality.
I'd go a size up with the boots though should I get some - I just can't decide between these three (and about five others)...
