So I recently got a mountain bike and really enjoying it.

Currently cycling the phoenix park loop and along the royal canal to maynooth.

So any other good trails recommendations in Dublin? The Lead Mines in South Dublin was mentioned somewhere but would need a car to get there.

    Hey Lennymc,

The loop is essentially the circumference of the park, but there are a few other bits too look out for.

I usually enter by the new criminal courts and take the first left. You'll see a trail beside the road. Around the back of the old nursing home and by the magazine are nice spots. The trial is nice and fast along the cabra wall.

****ty day for it, although that's probably half the fun.

    Hi fellow traveller
try the trails around howth n deerpark up to the masts at the top and back around by the cliffs, its a good short but hefty stretch of the legs, loads of little loops n trails. i usually head up at night with lights and its beautiful up there, you will find maps on the web, best to avoid evening time because there are alot of walkers and dogs. not the best place to bomb around corners but the views make up for it..
As for the phoenix pk, its great for a quick eve spin, head out to the park aswell and ive been noticing alot more people out on mtbs..great to see
    Tom
