Static noise coming from tv

    We got two saorview boxes there last week,I hooked one up to my tv vid a hdmi cable and I hooked the other one up to my parents tv via scart as it's an old tv been around since 97 I think.Anyway the problem is that there seems to a kind of a best way I can describe it a static noise coming from the tv and I just wondering is this down to the scart connection?It was never there before I installed the box and there's no noise coming out of my tv.

    Sounds like Bad earthing, Check the power leads, maybe one of them isnt seated fully.

    And you could try a decent surge protector extention lead.

    I think Peter Rhea answered a similar question here recently. Not sure if this will solve your problem.

    Is the volume on the Saorview box turned up to full via the box remote control? If not turn it up and leave it there. Use tv remote to control the volume afterwards.
