    Hi All,

Brother-in-law is coming home from Australia for 3 months & reckons it's possible to get car insurance for a short period. I'm not so sure. He has access to a car but will need to insure it. I reckon he will have to insure for a year & then suspend/cancel it after 3 months. He will also be screwed by not having any no-claims bonus here. Anyone have any experience of this?.

Does the car belong to a family member? Is it insured already? Would it be possible to have him named on the policy that covers the car already?

Car isn't insured already. Car's been idle for a while so need's to be NCT's as well. Reckon what he's thinking is a non runner but that's up to him
