See the bands sticky. Average seems to be about €1500 if you want an experienced band. More than that for some of the more in demand names, less if you're happy to book a pub band that are looking to crack into the weddings business.

You could have a look at Eden Band - http://www.edenband.ie/index.html

They are based in Edenderry so not too far from Kildare. Don't know how much they cost but you can send them an email and see.

Got married in June and booked The Party Kings. Loved them having heard them at a wedding I was at before my own and they certainly lived up to my expectations at my own wedding. They cost €1975 including a DJ.

I was at another wedding at the weekend and the Bentley Boys played at it and they were also really good.

Was at a friends wedding last year and they had Hard to Touch. About 10 minutes in we knew that is who we were going for and booked them. They played a mix of everything. Dance floor never emptied.

We have booked an 80's band called Delorean. They are 1985, which includes a dj too. I have seen them playing in the Roost in Maynooth and they are really good if you are into 80's. Its all songs that everyone knows :)

based in Naas, they can do all kinds of songs and have alot of experience.

Im a photographer and they can do Dj too so we tend to go out together with a special wedding price package deal.

Thank you very much to everyone who kindly replied to my tread, really appreciate it everyone advise.... I stumbled across a deadly band called "the Firm" brilliant 5 piece band with a brilliant Female singer, she is amazing.

We are delighted went to see them play last Thursday night in Leixlip and we were very impressed with their performance.

Now we can't wait till our wedding next September till we dance hearts out till the late hours of the morning.. So Excited...

what are you comparing it to to ascertain its madness?
5 plumbers? 5 doctors? 5 web developers? 5 sandwich makers? 5 taxi men? 5 lawyers?

U2 have only 4 members. how much do they charge for 4 hours?

multiply that class by 5 and you have afterdark band
completely subjective. they are really good, but 5 times better? best in the country? Yes, they consistently give great shows, but there's other bands who do that as well. Its all on the night.
