Any chance of NI Freeview signals in Sligo town after 10th Oct?

I realise that several large mountains on the Sligo / Leitrim border probably mean that the answer to my question is NO.

But after they turn up the power on the NI masts, is there any chance of receiving the Freeview signal in Sligo town??

    Any chance?

Many years ago, a TV trade guy said to me "Sligo is in a hole".

It is more or less surrounded by hills to the north and east.

    Have we any hope?

If you're not already getting the analogue signal, no, not a hope.

    Freesat. http://www.freesat.co.uk/[/QUOTE]

Freesat is by far the most effective way of receiving UK TV post analogue switch off. However, if you are currently getting clear, sharp and unghosted analogue UK TV off air, then chances are you will be able to receive Freeview.

No guarantee though. Only the main TX sites in Northern Ireland (Divis, Brougher and Limavady) are broadcasting Freeview at the moment, the relays will carry Freeview after stage one and two Analogue switch off on 10th and 24th October.

No UK terrestrial can get into Sligo.
