hay would be fine but we find that letting them out on a bare field works ok.keep them tightly stocked for a couple of weeks and they should be fine.45 kilo well fleshed charollais lambs were making 90 euro last week around here. charollais ewe lambs are not very highly regarded around this area as they are a bit wild so you may noy get a premium for them being ewe lambs, but that depends on the area.

i'd save the hay for a 'rainy' day...put them on bearest field on the farm and should be ok as dmaxman said

    Hi,

Hay is good to dry of ewes, but little is essential and not overfeed when drying. Charollais ewe lambs should fetch €85.00 if you were to slaughter them.

I got an average of 91.75 for 4 lambs last week in navan. I weighed them and 2 were 51kgs and 2 were 47kgs. All four were on meal for the previous six weeks.. Glad to see them off and only four more to go in about 2-3 weeks.
