Sorry to be a scab arse but I don't suppose anyone's got a bike bag I could borrow for a week (3rd-10th October), heading over to L'eroica in Italy. I'd be happy to pay you something as some sort of rental. Hopefully someone can help. Cheers guys.

Does the bag have to be at least 25 years old and 20+kg in weight?

I have a bike bag but it's not a hard case. Any use?

You can hire a hardcase for 50euro for the week,it will even be delivered to your door but you will need to return it to Sandyford when your finished with it.

The bag should be grand. Are you in or around the greater Dublin area by any chance?

I've a polaris bike pod you are more than welcome to borrow. Based in Lucan.

Actually that sounds ideal! Sturdy but probably compact enough to fit in the back of my rent-a-car. I'd like to take you up on that offer if I can. I'll PM you later. Thanks a mill.

Looks like you already have a better offer but if it falls through, I'm based in Phibsboro.

It fits in my mito (punto/corsa) when I fold down the seats and the bike fits in with just removing the handle bars and pedals.

Hope you get sorted with something. You might just want to check the combined weight of bike and bag. My L'Eroica bike is 18kg on its own, so I've bought 4kg of excess baggage for my Aer Lingus flight. Even at that, I reckon I'll be bringing the saddle and pedals in another bag.

Ive brought a 30 kilo bike bag (dh bike and all of my gear in it) with Aerlingus for the last 4 years to Switzerland and never once had to pay over the odds. The one this year was 32kg

They mention 15kg limit on their website but its just not true.
