    Is it possible to have a blog on LinkedIn where someone can post ongoing advice in relation to a certain topic and have each post appear under the last in pretty much the same way as a thread on boards?

    Not really a blog function but u can have a group .. which may help what your trying to do.
    it can be private or public to the users..

    You can also integrate WordPress into LinkedIn via a module, but it is really just for posting links to a blog article on your LinkedIn profile, but it may have more features, it has been a while since I last used it.
