i'm kinda sick of drinking i think that if it were just invented it would be illegal. i go out once a week and have drinks with friends but i'm starting to hate drink. the only thing is that it's the only way i can socialise like most people.

Momentarily I misread your thread heading as 'Anywhere in Dublin for 20 Non drinkers?'. I was feverishly typing the injunction 'Anywhere BUT Temple Bar' when I noticed the small 's' beside the twenty.

It is perfectly normal for a young man or woman to choose not to drink alcohol, though in this drink sodden nation of ours it's quite easy to believe otherwise.
Cinema, sport, music, TV, outdoor activities, even conversation, can all be enjoyed without the dubious 'enhancement' of alcohol.

I would counsel staying away from pubs, though some non-drinkers insist on their right to be there, the phrase 'putting yourself in harms way' always springs to mind.

The best of luck to you. I wish you well.

im a youth and dont drink myself either.. i know how you feel :)

there is new alcohol-free nightclub my friend Joe has just launched in January in Temple Bar. FB page: https://www.facebook.com/fluxdublin
    - went there it was simply amazing (well, i just had a really really good dance :)
it was 10eur in if reserved, 15 on the door

also I first started out 2 years ago at Funky Seomra nightclub (monthly) FB page https://www.facebook.com/FunkySeomra?fref=ts i stopped going there ..if you vounteer to set up/disassemble their venue (RDS) for an hour, you get in for free.

also last but defo not the least for sure Ireland's first alcohol-free festival called "ireland2012" last year - something i was personally deeply involved in organising. this is looking to be an annual event around Christmas around Dec 20-21. FB link here: https://www.facebook.com/nationalcelebration

all these together with the above suggestions of Sober Slice of Dublin meetup are really cool ways of meeting like-minded people.

im also thinking of doing alcohol-free/socialising for youth in Dublin area. Any suggestions are kindly welcome!
