Do first year students get involved or is it more advisable to have a years law knowledge before getting involved ?

    Hi,
Someone just brought this message to our attention. The SLS welcomes first years into the society-you can participate as a volunteer no bother what year you are in. The society will be running activities especially for first years including trips to the courts over the coming weeks. All volunteers have to go to our clinics so they are being educated in subjects such as landlord and tenant law and consumer law-subjects that ordinarily students do not cover in their degree and if so, touch upon very briefly in subjects such as property law. There are plenty of opportunities of students of all years to get involved in the activities of the society such as the clinics, the upcoming referendum, Know Your Rights Week or our annual publication. Don't be worried at all about the fact that you're a first year-plenty of avenues to get involved
