Well there are no magic pills and no short cuts.

But in my opinion and speaking from experience if you want to gain confidence and an ability to fight then a good MMA club is the way to go, failing one being near you then Muay Thai, San Shou or boxing.

MMA ~ Mixed Martial Arts.. What it says on the tin, its a combination off all thats good in the effective arts such as striking, wrestling (BJJ, Judo, Greco etc).. People here hate to use the term, but in laymans term's 'cage fighting'.

Muay Thai, San Shou etc, they're like kickboxing and very effective.

    Hi Good vibes

We run classes in Combat Silat, which focus on street defence training, if you check out my website and facebook link you get an ideal of what we about. You mention you were into internal training, in Silat there is a strong link between the Internal and Physical technique. Please feel free to PM if you need any more info. Hope you find what you are looking for and there alot of good teachers in the south Dublin, with plenty of choices for you to pick from. So find something you like, and a teacher who look after you and you enjoy learning under and you won't do much better than that.

You're asking a lot from something you have not researched much. If you want to learn a martial art then find one that's convenient to you and where the instructor is known to be diligent and motivational, and where the times suit you. The reality is you probably wont stick with a MA unless these attributes are present.

If you apply yourself to your training you will gain the fitness you want. If you want improved fitness beyond that then head to the gym.

You have not been specific about where in South Dublin you are (or where would suit you to attend training). I think if you disclosed that information you might get a more helpful answer.

As for getting a spiritual element to your training, you can only find that by applying yourself earnestly to your training. The "spirituality" in a MA is not delivered by the instructor, it is found in yourself.

    Be at peace,

    Z
