Just wondering if anyone knows where I would go to look for old medical records from a doctor who died a few years ago?
I was with a doctor for a year about 13yrs ago while I was working away from where I live and I under went a course of treatment that I need my current doctor to know about.
I dont know how to go about finding my records and getting them forwarded to my current doctor.
any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Was it a gp or consultant? If a gp, and they took medical cards, someone will have got their list and may have records. However, its a very long time ago and records would likely be paper (computerized practices were rare outside of the northwest then)

Quite often, another GP will take over his practice. Look around and see if that is the case. If so, put in a written request for the records. You may need to pay a fee to get your records.
