Recently my laptop won't play any youtube clip or indeed a clip of any sort...
when I click the play symbol, it just says "an error has occurred".

Any ideas what I can do?

do you know if you have flash player installed?

    I am using mozilla firefox

I don't think I have flash player - it is adobe isn't it?

I have tried to download it again but an error occurs and I don't know why...

This problem didn't always exist on my laptop ....

shall I just try to download flash player again....maybe I have to delete something first???

if you go into add or remove programs you'll see if it's installed there

if it is you could deleted/remove it

then try download it again or if you don't have it download it http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

thanks, I did as you suggested - there were different types of flash reader files so I deleted both of them.

I then installed it again - successfully.

I just tried youtube and I'm afraid it still doesn't work:(

I will restart the laptop now and try again,

thanks for your help - what should I try next?

this was probably two different programs both from adobe

adobe flash player - which you should have deleted
    &
adobe reader - you'll need this to view PDF's so might need to download it again

anyway if it doesn't work now you could try this:

go to youtube and right click on the video
    click on Settings...
then uncheck the box for Enable hardware acceleration

but even though I have tried updating firefox it still wont work there which is a pity because that is the browser I always use...time for a change methinks!!!

thanks for all your help guys:)
