Hi folks, the missus managed to 1) completely total the passenger wing mirror on her mk7 fiesta and 2) damage the top of the passenger door where it got whacked by the mirror. Just wondering is it worth getting a replica off ebay and trying to source a mechanic to fit it? I would imagine a main dealer job is going to be very expensive given that it has electrics and integrated indicator.

In relation to the damaged door, she was thinking of trading for a new Fiesta in a couple of months - is it worth getting the dint repaired or leave it to the dealer to get sorted? Thanks.

I'd be inclined to try the likes of partfinder.ie for a replacement mirror In the right colour either way as this will be cheaper than main dealer or bodyshop. There isn't a whole lot to fitting them.

The likes of micksgarage do them too (pattern parts)

As for the trade in, tricky one. If you repair the door, any half decent dealer will spot the repair and devalue the car anyway. You could be looking at respraying the whole side of the car.

Best to do the mirror, get trade in value with non local dealers now along with a quote from a trusted bodyshop, if they're devaluing the car more than the cost of repair, then consider fixing it and pricing again in local dealers

sjhould be a DIY job to fit it. (Mk7 is the current model, so you should be able to source one OK)
