Irish Maps - to giveaway

Right, this is probably going to be regarded as positively stone-age but I've decided to get rid of my collection of OSI Discovery Series maps . These used to play a crucial role in my Irish cycle tours but have been superseded by Garmin. Regardless, rather than simply dump them I thought I'd see if anyone else might be able to put them to good use.

I don't have all 89 1:25,000 scale maps but the are 40 or so to choose from. For anyone contemplating using them for cycle touring certain combinations make sense; I.e., 16, 25, 23, 31, 37, 38, 45 would guide you on a nice route from Sligo to Galway.

I'm happy enough to drop them off to anyone living within 10k of Dublin city centre. Anyone further afield will have to collect or PayPal me the postage.

The full range available are in the images in the next post. You can refer to the Ordnance Survey Ireland site to establish what the numbers refer to. Note that the collection also includes three for Northern Ireland and two "special" maps for The Aran Islands and Killarney National Park.

I'd definitely be interested in these. Are you looking to get rid of them all in one bunch or do we have to choose the ones we need? I tend to roam all over so I'd happily take them all off your hands for the price of postage.

If you're happy to take them all, I'm happy to give them all. Where are you based?

If they are not all taken I'm interested (for mountain walking.)

@Kincsem: got that. If for any reason the first "sale" falls through they're yours.

I'm in Limerick so paypal and postage would be handiest for me. Kincsem, is there any in particular that you want, no reason why we can't split them as I'm sure there's one or two I have already and a few more I'll probably never get a chance to use.

I have these OSI Discovery Series 1:50000
    50 Dublin
    55 Kildare
    56 Wicklow north
    61 Carlow
    62 Wicklow south
    68 Carlow
    69 Wexford
    78 Kerry
    83 Kerry

I'm interested in mountain areas that might not be great for cycling (I am a cyclist.) I live in Dublin so can collect from the kind opening poster any you leave. Thanks for the suggestion.

Grand so: I'll let you guys divide the spoils. Perhaps you could let me know by tomorrow (Monday) evening how you'd like to split them and I'll price postage accordingly. For guidance, sent by standard post as a single package weighing between 3.5 and 4kg, the cost is €12.50.

I'm actually also interested in the mountain areas that might not be great for cycling as I'd be using them for mountain biking and hiking.

Anywho, the ones I'd be most interested in would be
    58
    57
    52
    51
    50
    45
    83
    78
    69
    66
    62
    25
    36

I'm happy to leave the rest to you Kincsem if that's alright with you rflynnr.

    Yes. I'm happy with that.
Do I PM you my address and then send the cost of postage? We can use PM to arrange things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,021 ✭✭✭rflynnr

Yes, if you can both PM your addresses I'll calculate the postage tonight. Assuming you're both based in Ireland, the specific address isn't the determinant of postage costs (it's the same rate to anywhere), but I'll need to calculate the weight of both packages to figure it out. When I've done that I'll pm you bot back the rates and give you my Paypal details.
