Hi I'm hoping someone can help me step by step in calculating my take home pay. I am applying for One Parent Family but also have been offered an interview. I need to calculate wages in order to know how much One Parent I will be entitled to.

It will be 30 hours per week on €8.65 per hour, I've calcuated my gross is €259.50 per week but don't know step by step deductions.
I am a single mother, sorry don't know what my cut off rate is.

    Thanks in advance.

They have a table listing the amounts; it's located at http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Publications/sw19/Pages/sw19_sect3.aspx

From the basic information you have given, they will assess your weekly means as €65, meaning you will get a One-Parent Payment of €130.50 for yourself.

Add to this €29.50 for each qualified child.

That will be your payment on top of your take home pay.

Your take home pay will be €253.00 as you will have to pay Universal social charge.

Bear in mind that there could also be other implications when claiming OPF payment and working 30 hours.

    You can also get FIS.

Using the info you have there, I think you should be looking at:

    OPF: €130.50
    One Child: €29.50
    Work: €253
    FIS: €56

    Total €469

For example if you are on rent allowance, that will go. And additionally they will be on your back about pursuing the other parent for maintenance - such to the point they may deduct you in the absence of the other parent paying.

If you have a medical card you don't have to pay USC aparently.

If you have a medical card you don't pay USC at 7%. The max you pay is 4%
