Hi, I'm in the process of planning a new bathroom in an upstairs room, at the moment I just have the toilet and need to measure for the drainage hole through the wall. I will be putting marine ply over the existing floor boards and then tiling but I have neither of these yet. What would be the recommended thickness for the ply and what,on average, is a floor tile thickness. I realise they probably come in different thicknesses but an average height would do within a couple of mill.
    Thanks for any replies.

10mm WBP Screwed every 2 " screws not to exceed the combined total of 10mm and dept of the floor underneath but obviously need to go into the floor so i use to use 20mm screws.

Tile thickness varies depending on what your using. But if your worried about the hole in the wall dont you can use an off set pan connector if you get it slightly wrong. Just screw down the ply then put a tile sitting on top of it then the pan sitting on top of that. There is the height of the hole bar the adhesive but better the hole is lower than heigher.
