    Hello

I'm considering applying to some graduate training schemes (finance area). I wanted to get someone to look over my CV and see if there is any way I can improve it. Does anyone know a good CV service?

    Thanks.

I have been trying to do the same the last few days. I keep sending my C.V. and a cover letter but not getting any replies. I thought if I could post it here or get somebody to review it I may get some advice on improving it. I dont mind if the comments are negative.
There is a thread where C.v.'s have been posted but I am not sure yet how to post ion it

Try Fas. They have a jobsclub who will review your CV for free if your on social welfare. Depends on your office but the person who reviewed mine blew me away. She had seen a whole range of CVs across different experience and was on top of her game. It was great to get an insight into whats out there. Again it depends on whos in your local fas office, and whilst fas may have been subject to negative press in the past, there are some seriously good people out there and its no harm to try anyway.

Woeful would be more like it.

Interests and activities: Golf and sport. Golf is a sport, is it not?

OP, please don't take offence but thats the sort of reaction your CV will get by many people reading it.

The paragraphs of text should really be in the cover letter.

The alliance building and Gasworks development. Do you own it? Did you design it? Were you a bricky there? Its not clear.

Another tip I would give is to check grammar and spelling carefully, and make the grammar consistent. I noticed you used US English. Use the UK spell checker.

Also, a prospective employer doesnt need to know you were a barman in 1987. He only wants the last 5-10 years. If you have been in construction for the last 15 years and its a construction job you are going for, no-one gives a crap what happened before.

thank you for all the feedback. Im not offended by any of the remarks. I was looking for truthful comments and that is what I got.

I have taken your advice sky2424 and removed my C.V.
