btea and fuel allowance

I just got tge letter yesterday approving my btea for this year.I was on JSA before hand.I enquired about fuel allowance yesterday the lady said to apply and see what happens.Do you qualify for fuel allowance when on BTEA?? Itd really come in handy as there is just me and my daughter.I remeber when I was pregnant applying for it but was refused as my mat benefit was been processed.

Keeping your secondary benefits

If you qualify for the Back to Education Allowance, you can keep your entitlement to any secondary benefits you already have, for example, Fuel Allowance, Rent Supplement and Mortgage Interest Supplement. However, any increase in income may affect your entitlement to Rent/Mortgage Interest Supplement or the amount of supplement you get. For example, this can happen if you move from a reduced social welfare payment to the standard BTEA rate.

If you came from long term jsa you will get fuel allowance.
