Going to post here for this problem.

Have a Dell XPS 17 with a 9 cell battery. Got it for Christmas, as a present to myself.

The laptop has been working fine, up until today. Over the last few days, I have let the battery drain down, mainly because I was using it in an area with no plugs.

Now the laptop is saying that it won't recognise the AC adapter and the batter won't charge. I ran a full diagnostic of the machine, and the only error returned is 3600:0749. I also flashed the new BIOS, as that was a suggested fix, but it didn't work.

Has anybody had this problem, and how did they fix it?

    Many thanks

As per link on Dell website http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/p/19264741/19451114.aspx it seems like broken solder near of socket which happened to me when i had xps m1730.
Can You tested with another charger? Can You install such a program (BatteryMon) and let Us know last 3 positions.

    Ring dell.

It will be still under warranty as it's under a year old, its either the charger or the board .

    Thanks to all posters.

I got a lend of a charger for an XPS from a friend. Plugged it in, and it charged the battery perfectly. So I rang Dell, and explained the problem. New charger on its way out to me by Tuesday.

    +1 for Dell's customer service
