    Hello,

I just moved to Cork from Germany and I like to buy my first car. I prefer a used car (brand doesn't matter, max. 1000 Euro). So I need tips where to find a good dealer for used cars in Cork. Also I don't know what I need else e.g. isurance, yearly inspections etc. and what it costs approximately.

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards,
    Robert

The only cars valued at around €1000 you will buy from a dealer will be junk.

Upping your budget to 2k would hugely improve what kind of car you could get privately

If you spend about €1.2k on a Micra/Corsa (go for the micra) from a private seller and you'll get a much better deal, dealers will rip you off to no end on that budget.
We'd need details for your insurance, it varies hugely over here.
www.chill.ie I find are good for insurance.
    Hope the helps. :)

I thought about that. But I don't know how long I will stay in Ireland yet. Maybe only one year.

Thanks for the website and the hint with the Micra/Corsa. Sounds good.

Noone can answer the question of how expensive your insurance will be; it depends on a number of factors. Likewise there is no one company that are better than others; a company that gives me a good quote might ask you for thousands.

Your best bet is to go onto Donedeal and take a look at cars in your budget range. Then when you find something you like ring around every insurer and broker you can find in the phone book and see who offers you the best quote. Its a tedious process but its the only way to ensure that you are getting the best value.

You will be much better off to look on DoneDeal with that kind of budget. You won't find much of a car from a dealer for 1k.

There's a lot of small cars being sold for that kind of money on DoneDeal.

Viel glück mit der Jagd :D
