Its going to cost me nearly 100 euro each week in petrol and then more for wear and tear of the car etc so Iv decided to see what accommodation is available for me

Iv had a look at rental sites but nothing stands out. I was looking at B&Bs but that might be far to expensive

Im going to be a doing a computer course in Shannon so im hoping to get some where near the industrial park there. Its starting October and duration is 26 weeks.

    Any advice please?

Is it a house share you're after or an apartment on your own?

These apartments are pretty dated but ideal location, 5 minute walk to Fás. You can do a bit of haggling and get the rent down to €400/month.

They might be the oldest around but most have been modernised is the last few years. They are probably better built than many of the newer ones and many have really good views.

The first one is depressing though.

They seemed to have spruced up the crying chair with a nice red throw. I think I'd be able to put up with it if only temporarily.

Anyway, 10 minutes from Shannon Ind. Estate is Sixmilebridge.

This one might be what you're after.

If you'll consider sixmilebridge, then keep Newmarket on fergus in mind too.
Good few new estates there with apartments in them.

    Similar distance from Shannon.

Sorry for the bump but this is nearly upon me now.

I got this accommodation list from fas today. Areas that were mentioned. Ballycasey area, Drumgeely area, Town centre area, Tullyvarraga area, Tullyglass, Bunratty village and 6 mole bridge.

Any stand out areas there? Any advice?

Well in my opinion Ballycasey, Tullyvarraga and the Tullyglass areas would be some of the nicer parts of the town.

Drumgeely would be the closest to Fas, followed by Tullyglass and the town centre. Ballycasey is at the opposite end of the town, about 25 minutes walk to Fas.

Just be prepared for how boring the town is. You wouldn't be missing out if you were in the more rural Sixmilebridge or Bunratty areas (that is if you have the car). If it were up to me I'd choose to live outside the town. You'll probably get something cheaper and of better quality outside Shannon.

Anybody ever stay in the Bunratty Courtyard B&B?

No, but I know its nice, hardly cheap though.
