Did anyone ever have a dog that is allergic to dust mites.one of my springers get loads of little spots on her chest that look like the ones a human would get when they burst the skin goes dead and black and falls off.this is going on for about a year been to the vet loads of times and after blood test he says she is allergic to dust mites. Tryed different tablets and nothing seems to be working now he is saying it could be food after me saying it to him ages ago and he said then it wouldnt be.just wondering has anyone ever come across this and how they solved it i am just sick of going to the vets at this stage. She is curently beening fed red mills adult.

Ya I've seen it happen before. They can be allergic to lots of different mites including th eones found in maze & beet. Is it fair to ask what tablets your vet had the dog on?

I have seen this problem solved before with a long acting shot of steroid & a hypo-allergenic nut that royal canin make.

Ya the tablets are atopica. Ya he was on about steroids and hypoallergenic nuts and he stocks royal canine nuts so i am guessing it will be them he will advise. It seams to flair up more in the summer. Thanks for the reply atleast that solution sounds promissing.

you should chance giving him a shot of ivermectin injection. 0.5ml under the scruff of the neck should sort alot of the mite problem out for 5/6 weeks & chance him on those nuts. If it is a persistant problem it could be a heredatory allergy.
