Hi, really just looking for a bit of peace of mind from people who know what they are talking about.
I was stopped by two gardai after a night out recently. I was chanting a song and it had a line directed at the cops. Stupid on my part and not going to make any excuses.
The Garda took all my details from my driving licence. She told me I should apologize and gave me the number from her shoulder.
I have wrote a letter of apology to her garda station.
Is there a possibility this could go any further? Could I end up getting a court summons? Could I get a criminal record?

First issue in bold - you might want to ask a legal professional then ;) this is a forum with all sorts of riff-raff in it. How would you know who is telling you the truth and who isn't.

On the letter of apology - isn't that a trick from the wire to give the cops all they need in written form to prosecute? :D

Well I was hoping someone might have a bit more knowledge than my friends who have been having a great laugh at my expense. Apparently im overthinking things and it was all just done to scare me. If thats the case, well then well done Guards, mission accomplished:o
They had all my details so I doubt they needed anything else from a letter.

The Gardai have better things to be doing than following up on this one, especially now that their resources are being stretched.

What exactly were you chanting that was related to the 'cops'?

The line says that all cops are B*stards

Edit: Obviously not my opinion, just a stupid drunk remark.

    I wouldn't worry about it.
