Unfortunately I missed this meeting today due to a timetable cock up (my fault) I got in there at 1:10 but everyone was gone even though it was supposed to run till 2. If anyone was there did I miss anything important. I have our timetable but have no lab or tutorial groups. I'm wondering if they were assigned today. Any help would be appreciated.

If anyone needs the timetable here's the link

Here are the lab groups. (I'm in B, so I get off early on a Friday. )

The lecturers gave us a brief intro into our courses. You didn't miss much in that regard, as all that was said will be repeated during the week.
They emphasised the importance of attendance and working hard. Apparently, engineering has a high failure rate. 50% have to repeat exams and 25% have to repeat the year.
Other than that, we got a tour of the place and a copy of the handbook. I'd try to get a copy of it if I were you, but it's not essential. Oh, we also met our peer mentors.

Thanks for the info. I just stumbled upon the groups and lab schedule today. I was hoping for group B myself... seen that early finish on Fri but I got D instead. If i'm reading the lab schedule right though, I'm only in once on the Fri lab session, in week 9. So thats a result.
I have a PDF of the handbook so thats covered.

So I guess we're working off the timetable from day 1 yeah? Meaning Mechanics in MacNeill Theatre 9:00 Monday.

Thanks again for the reply and good luck.
