Anyone know of a safe and legal (let me emphasise that, SAFE as in non-active and maybe just a text file or other non-compiled source or even a "de-fanged" copy of the original source and LEGAL, ie: not downloaded off some torrent site or malware distributor site of any kind) way to read the code behind malware like Flame and Stuxnet? is there a code archive anywhere? Is there a site, other than Symantec that does analytical write ups of what makes the malware/botnet etc tick ?

hxxp://malware.lu/ has samples, you can go at em with IDA. You will need an account there. It is for analysis stuff that they provide em.

If it is SAMPLES you want that is likely the best, source codes you can often find leaked on underground forums and such. I do not think stuxnet or flames actual source code is out there, but binaries are readily available for decompile and analysis :)

Oh, and they are *not* defanged.
