    Hi,

I have recently started a jobbridge internship, this involved me moving home. When I was filling in the forms in the social welfare office before moving home I was told it shouldn't be a problem to leave my old address on the forms and leave my application with them even though my home is in a different region. I rang jobbridge today to ask a general question, and was told that I should have moved my Jobseekers claim to my home office? If I move my claim will I have to wait for it to be re assessed, since I am living at home ,or will it be a straight transfer?

Have you moved from living on your own to living back at home...because if this is the case then I am nearly surely your claim will be reassessed under the 'benefit and privilege' assessment.

Yes I have moved home as the internship is nearer to home, but when I was filling out the forms about signing up for the internship in the social welfare office I was told not that it wouldn't be a problem to leave the claim with them. Now I'm unsure what to do, if I go to move the claim do I have to wait to get reassessed?, couldn't really continue to work without receiving some sort of income

I think you really need to go down to your local social welfare office and speak with them directly.

When you say 'they said there shouldn't be a problem if you changed address' did they know that what you mean't was moving home or do you think it is possible that they presumed a change of address meant you just moving somewhere else not moving back home?

Because anyone under 25 who lives at home is always reassessed under the 'benefit and privilage' assessment unless they lived independently for 3 consecutive years.

It's important not to get the jobridge allowance of €50 mixed up with your entitlement to JSA. It's only your JSA payment that might be affected if you are reassessed but you will still get the €50 in addition to this payment if you are working under any of the approved jobridge schemes.
