Rang Sky today, just to have a wee chat, didnt expect to make a sale but I did, so i got the Sky HD plus package :D

Now I've the UPC bundle (tv/BB/phone) so is it simply a matter of canceling the tv with UPC or do i have to pick a BB/phone bundle and basically start again?

Also, how long does it take to sort things out with UPC roughly? (as Sky said they'd be a week)

    Thanks.

Just done this in last couple of days...

send an email to resolutionteam@upc.ie stating name and account number and just write you want to cancel tv and keep broadband and phone assuming you want to do so... save you the bother of having to chat on phone as to why you want to leave etc... they came back to me same day confirming cancellation

you need to give 30 days notice so to save a few quid you may want to phone back sky and delay installation for a few weeks save paying for both at same time

A months notice is pretty standard for most companies when cancelling or downgrading an account

Remember now though, I think, you will be cahrged an extra €7.50a month for having the B/B without TV

Keep at UPC after the 30 days to make sure you won't be charged. They gave us the date that they would stop charging us and kept taking money for 3 more months. State as clear as possible in your email that it is just tv you want off your subscription.

Tell UPC to take the TV package from your bundle and leave the BB/Phone bundle in place.

Two months ago I removed TV from my triple play. There response was to unbundle BB from phone and charge me full whack for both of them, rather than the bundle price. After a polite phone call to them the following month, they said that this is standard practice. DON'T let them do this to you too.

Keep the phone with the BB,even if you don't use the phone it'll save a few quid as they discount them when bundled.
