Hey guys I'm looking to buy a new suit which can be used for job interviews. I'm based in Dublin. I'm looking to get one that will look the part and hopefully won't damage my pocket too much. I'm hoping around 200 will be enough for something nice, maximum would probably be 250/300. Any suggestions where the best places to look are?

For that kind of money, I'd try Marks & Spencer. Decent suits for a decent price. You might be able to pick up a better suit in a sale in a proper tailor's but that price range would be at the bottom.

You can always go cheaper, but I wouldn't bother unless you're very stuck financially, as you would notice the quality on a cheap suit.

Ok, a friend recommended the bargain basement in Arnotts. And also TkMaxx. What do you's think of those?

go for m + s instead. suits in tk maxx are very random. you may well need to get the trousers shortened when you buy a suit - allow for 15 / 20 euro to get that done also.

Ok, thanks very much for the advice. I've seen upstairs in the marks and spencers on grafton street before and I saw their large range of suits. I don't know very much about suits, what is the service like in there? Would I be ok walking in there by myself or should I bring someone who knows things about tailoring?

Tesco do half decent suits that don't look to cheap.

Brother got one and held up against a €400 suit their wasn't much difference in the tailoring.
Of course you'll need to find a tesco selling clothes.

Go to Maxima on the corner of Dawson St & Sth. Anne St. Quality gear at decent prices.

go for a plain dark grey or slightly lighter charcoal colour - best option for a suit that works well in many situations imo. and single-breasted 2 or 3 buttons on jacket. NOT double-breasted unless you're over 50 and going for the new-york mafia goodfellas look.
