I'm looking to study Irish in UCD, I'm sitting higher level for the leaving but I'm still worried that my Irish isn't strong enough. Would this effect studying it in UCD? Would I need good Irish for it? :(

I don't study it but there's a special module for people who didn't get a B3, or who don't feel confident enough in the basics, and I think you do things that should be known but aren't always taught - like cases and more complicated grammar.
