Are Nokia worth a punt?

Their share price is near rock bottom. They got caught on the hop with Android & Apple iOS but could come back with windows 8 in the future. Microsoft is in a lot of homes and Nokia with the right phone could easily bounce back, there still the king box shifter of mobile phones especially in the none smart phone market.

What do you think, could they rebound? I didn't catch the Apple train but I don't think Nokia should be written off as Junk. The prices is starting to gain a few points and they are a trusted brand.

As far as I know Nokias two biggest assets are their suite of patents and massive losses to offset against tax in Finland.

They're still huge in the developing world so maybe they'll get a second chance when those consumers move to smart phones.

No. Big problems getting hold of their windows phone ( although maybe these were planned problems) .

Until they release numbers sold then we won't know if they were planned or not.

But having a image of being saught after will have the same effect. It's gets them press, it creates a desirable image which will cause them so sell more in the long run.

Nokia has released some prelim sales figures showing better than expected results.

Premarket in NYSE is moving between 18-22%
Helsinki Open market is up 12.73%

Yesterday the NYSE dropped around 7% on news about a tax evasion investigation in India. I believed this was a major over reaction so i doubled my holding in NOK on this news. Very glad i did now.

Im struggling with what to do with my holding when NYSE opens.

My thinking is that with such as steep rise there is bound to be a decent pullback at some point, whethers its later today or tomorrow.

Also this quarter also include the christmas periods sales so they were always going to be greater than just a normal period.

However this could just be what the NOK market needs a bit of confidence and it could quickly be back in the $5 range.

    Yup.

I ended up taking profits at $4.38.
That got me a nice 16% profit.

Im going to look to reenter at some point but ill see how it plays out over the rest of today and tomorrow.
