There used to be a breadcrumb trail at the bottom of each thread, in the same way that there's one underneathe the Boards.ie logo in the header,e.g. the below for this thread:

Home > Sys > Site Development > Breadcrumb trail at bottom of thread no longer there?

Any chance this can be put back in? It was always a useful navigational feature.

Not to mention the adds now seem to have moved the quick reply box the far left instead of the middle (though I'm not sure if it's an add problem or just me not having adblock on) since sometime last night.

This was removed as part of the banner ads updates. It doesn't look like it's coming back. There is chatter about it in the new skin related threads in Feedback.

Same applies for the Quick Reply box change.

    These are not bugs.

The ads are an annoyance but an understandable one given that it's for commercial purposes and we'll all just have to get used to for

I don't see why the breadcrumb trail needs to go to allow for this? Seems to be plenty of retail space above the ads and the Quick Reply box to leave this navigational aid in place?

If all Boards.ie's reaction to a usability problem caused by code changes is "These are not bugs." you've got some serious community communications problems here Danny. I don't say this to be anything other than constructive. Maybe I've posted this in the wrong area but tbh, with Site Development, Feedback, FeedForward and Helpdesk even us posters who've been on the site for a decade get confused as to where any particular issue should be raised?

There's no communication issue here - you opened the thread as a bug report and I informed you that they are not bugs. You will also see I have changed the thread prefix to Not A Bug.

They are issues for design and the product manager. They are not issues I, as a developer, can help you with.

I directed you to feedback where most other users are engaging on the topics that you wanted to discuss in here.

I haven't closed this thread, I've not moved it. I've left it here so that others who come in to report the issue will see it's prefix and my response/directions to head over to feedback.

Sorry, where I work (Software Development Company) we regard a change to one piece of functionality (banner ads) causing an unrelated feature to break (navigation bar) as a bug.

Hence why I'd disagree with the "These are not bugs".

The communication issue, imho, is that there are now too many different feedback / contact the team with an issue you're experiencing on boards forums. It's got to be causing massive duplication of work (you might see this thread as being a case in point). I can see the point in having separate feedback forums for "how should mods handle these issues" and "I've an issue with the software" but tbh, I'd have thought an issue with features of the UI being deprecated would have fallen into the latter, rather than the former categories, hence why I posted here.

We didn't add banner ads and have the unintended effect of removing breadcrumbs. I specifically removed that piece of HTML. It wasn't the only feature to be removed, Thread Tags and Social Bookmarks are gone too. So it is a design change, on the new style. Feedback on the new design is taken over in Feedback.

I do not mind that you made this thread in Site Development, but as I said previously I cannot help you on this issue. I can only inform you that they are not bugs and direct you to the place we are taking feedback regarding the removal of these features.
