FYI, there's a forum request for a separate Commuter Cycling forum http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056755344.

If you have an opinion on this issue, please leave it on the thread.

The forum charter there will explain the rules on voting.

    Thanks

Just a note that Trojan has posted this in the thread this evening:

    Hypothetical questions:

    1) Should we move Cycling from Sports to Rec? Discuss.

    2) List in order of priority 3 subforums of Cycling that you think we should create (e.g. Touring, Ladies, MTB, Fixed/SS, Commuting, Vintage, whatever). Discuss.

Note: this is hypothetical, in order to move the discussion to something that would be useful to us.

If you've not already done so, head over there and have your say - it's your forum and your feedback on these topics is greatly appreciated

I have renamed this thread from "cycle commuting" to "A discussion on the direction and possible subforums of the Cycling forum" to reflect the changed nature of the discussion. Further votes will not be counted, due to the change in name.

The Cycling forum is a very busy forum with a high turnover of threads, so creation of a subforum does not seem unreasonable. From the votes to date it's highly unlikely that the forum as proposed by the OP herein will be created.

Therefore we are still actively seeking suggestions and alternatives that might be more viable.

Again, we would encourage regulars in the forum to provide feedback.

I've updated the thread title to reflect this

The thread is now closed so I'm de-stickyfying this one ...
