Honda Bluetooth

Can't start a new topic, but need advice from a Honda mechanic.

I have an 07 Accord, with the HFT bluetooth, which was coded and therefore locked me out, by the previous owner...

I am asked for the 4 digit code to access the system, but with 9,999 possible options, my voicebox, and patients have been tested to the max!

I'm reliably informed, this can only be reset by the Honda computer, but I am absolutely smashed broke, and cannot afford the garage charges, so was wondering if there is a cheat (I am a mechanic by trade, so would try anything!) or are there any Honda mechanics out there, who would do it for me, for the price of a few pints?

I have tried all the obvious potential codes by the way (1234, 0000, 9876 etc etc etc) and have made countless efforts to contact the previous owner...

So, anyone out there help me???

Off topic, buT on the phone issue. Have you tried a reset via press volume up and volume down buttons at the same time till the blue led is flashing, then set your phone to search for bluetooth? Think you can enter 1234 or 0000 then? Worth a try.

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply... The volume up and down buttons are on the same rocker type switch, making it impossible to do this.

However, from reading the rest of your post, I fear you may have misunderstood the problem. I cannot access any aspect of the in car Bluetooth as it was locked by a 4 digit code, it's not the pairing code that is needed when pairing devices, I cannot access Bluetooth settings at all, as its locked out.

Any help greatly appreciated, so thanks TJJP!

Have your tried to delete the previous pairing (the phone setup menu voice commands are:status, pair, edit, delete, and list)?

No, as I cannot access the menu without the code... The previous owner has locked it, and I can't access it without the code.

    Suggestions elsewhere are:

Press and release the talk button and say System. The response should be "System options are setup and clear". Press and release the talk button and say "clear". The response should be "This process will clear all paired phones, clear all entries in the phonebook and clear the passcode. Is this what you would like to do?"

Press and release the talk button and say "yes". The response should be "Preparing to clear all paired phones, all phonebook entries, and the passcode. This may take up to 2 minutes to complete. Press and relase the Talk button. After the beep, say "OK" to proceed, or say "Go Back" or "Cancel". "

Press and release the talk button and say "OK". Eventually the response should be "System has been cleared. Returning to the main menu.".

If that fails, it's off to the dealer to have them reset it....

I went through the shop manual, but I'm afraid there is no reset option without plugging it in :(

    Thanks Gibbon.

Now... Any Honda mechanic in need of the price of a few pints? I can't afford the full garage charge!

I don't think they would charge more than 30 min labour for the reset ;)

Not by my enquiries so far... Cheapest quote I can get is 60 euro... If that's a half hour rate, I should have stayed in the motor game!!!

Page 11 of this may help

    http://www.handa-accessories.com/accord/handsfreeusers.pdf

There's also a help line at Honda in this somewhere.. Can't find the link but a google should bring it up

This thead in the Honda forum doesn't look that promising but may have some suggestions that work.

    Thanks Cicero.

It does appear that Honda computer only is the only way to rectify this...
