hi i have a dell e520 and im kinda after running out of things to upgrade

    except the motherboard that is

so for a start i believe a new case and motherboard is needed

id want a mobo that would be able to use all the other parts i have in the dell

    gfx card - gts 240
    cpu - q6600
    psu - 480w tagan
    ram - ddr2
    hdd - sata

id also want to be able to upgrade these parts too in the future

can anyone point to a mobo that fits the description please?

    thanks

    There isnt one.

Thats socket 775, and ddr2 ram. Socket 775 mobos with ddr3 arent super common now so you'd have to stick with ddr2, and the q6600 is nearly the top of that sockets food chain. You could upgrade to a q8400 or whatever that one was later, but it'd be a total waste of money.

Save up until you can get an 1155 processor, ddr3 ram and a current gen mobo. If you look at my sig you'll see I'm in the same boat so I have looked into it ;)

You'll easily get that for €300 if you don't mind waiting 5 years.

There's no way to tell without more info, but probably not.

Mono has a good guide to PSUs in his sig, here it is.

Most commonly recommended PSUs around here are the Amazon series from Super-Flower.

    450W
    550W

These would be the ones you'd be looking at with your specs so far.

You are better off selling your existing computer whole - net you maybe €250, and build new. You will need a new windows licence (if you need it) if you change the motherboard, you wont be able to transfer it to your upgraded parts.

Better off starting a new build
