Which is the most technical? Which toughest to learn?

Would like to learn one or two just for fun

Hammer certainly the most technical if you want to throw long. But at novice level it's also the most fun.

Shot is the easiest to learn, but gets a bit boring.

Javelin isn't for everyone and it can be surprisingly difficult to master.

Discus is always most popular at my club as, once learnt, you get the satisfaction of throwing reasonably far.

Be a thrower - we need you!

Without really having tried any I would think the hammer is the most technically difficult, followed by discus and javelin and shot!

I would think that javelin would be the toughest in the physical sense. A lot of force and strain on the whole arm/shoulder. Similar to a pitcher in baseball.

I'm as far from a throwing expert as you'll get but have tried all of them a few times with the exception of the hammer (I don't trust myself not to smack myself in the head with it!).

They are all very technical events for sure, but the hammer looks particularly very technically challenging. Of the ones I've tried I found the shot the easiest to get a sort of basic technique in, followed by the discus. The javelin is a nightmare. I just can't do it.

Its a long time since I threw anything that wasn't aimed at the OH:p but from when I did throw I found the shot is the easiest to master but once you get the technique of the shot (like the position of your hips and upper body etc when you release the shot) you have a great basis for the discuss (and I think the hammer as well- there was no girls hammer when I was younger- not sure if its there is now) The javelin as we were taught, was a complete different technique and I know we were encouraged not to throw javelin if you threw shot or discuss. I don't know if it all is worked on the same principles now.
