Buried before death

I have recently come across two records for a person with a very peculiar name (so I know it is the right person), but his burial record is dated four days before his death record. I am unsure which one is correct but it is a cautionary tale of how transcription errors can easily happen and if you can't find that elusive family member when they were suppose to have be recorded then check the dates around it.

I think you can answer your own question here. One of them is wrong. Have you seen the whole register or is this just an extract or transcript? If you can see the whole register, you can see whether it's recorded in date order (which would be usual).

I have seen both original records, and it holds no clues as there were very few deaths/burials around the same time. What makes it more peculiar is that he died in a hospital about 40 miles from where he was buried so it would have take a few days for his body to have ben moved.
I think the burial record is probably the more accurate of the two.
