Saorview Channels Gone

Last week, I installed Saorview for my grandmother - using a Lloytron amplified aerial connected to a NordMende set-top box. It was working fine, had a load of TV and radio channels, until a few days ago when everything was replaced by a 'No channels found. Please check your antenna connection.' message.

Nothing in the set-up has changed whatsoever, nothing has been removed. Is it more likely to be a fault with the box or the aerial?

I see you are using an indoor aerial:

Sometimes RTENL are working on the system and it is turned off for a few hours.

In Dublin recently they made some changes to the system.

Can you state which town you are in, and have you asked the neighbours is their Saorview affected?

Can you check the signal again and see if it has come back by magic?

Not my choice, the grandmother refused to use a satellite dish or external aerial because the house seems to exist in a weird wind tunnel that kills them, and the aerial was seemingly the best one she could find.

Galway, Rahoon. The neighbours are all using satellite, which apparently don't keep dying.

And the signal is still gone, and has been gone for about three days.

Your recommended nearest mast is Tonabrocky
Tonabrocky is suffering plannied morning outages and RTE have nothing up on Aertel warning us of it. This will continue until Saturday the 1st.

    From here:

So it seems as if the local mast will be on and off until the 1st of October. Try not to rescan when it is off or you may lose channels. Then you would need to re-scan when the channels are on.

Generally if it is off air this is during the day. If you have rescanned try rescanning in the evenings. If you then get a signal then don't rescan even if it is off.

Rahoon is no distance from Tonabrocky, you should be able to get a good signal with an indoor aerial.

Every document with Saorview frequencies going back to v1.0 says channel 26 so I can't see how you lost the channels.

That aerial uses a mains 12V adapter, did you check that it's still plugged in and the socket switched on?

Edit: just read above post, relay must be off during the day.

That post is from 2011, this time last year, it's dated Sept 29th 2011.

oops. The other recommended site is Maghera. Have they been working at Maghera and is Tonabrocky a relay site of Maghera?
