hi, i was hoping that someone on here could tell me whether i can buy new headlights for my 04 1.5l hatchback that have a black background 2003-2006 and change for the originals which have a grey background?
i got a letter years ago from nissan for a recall on them n forgot all about bringing it back. fast forward a few years and the bulb holder for 1 of my dims has melted n broken off and its fairly hairy driving on 1 really bad dim.
i rang nissan dealer n he said recall was over and it'd be 460 for 2 new lamps, i found on ebay uk 2 new branded nissan lamps for 90stg delivered which would suit my pocket way better as i'm hoping to change motor next year. cheers folks

The headlights were redesigned on the facelifted model that you have, it's not just the background. The wiring looms/holders could be completely different to the earlier model.

Have a look on here: www.partfinder.ie. There are lots of 2004 Almeras listed there in scrap yards, your bound to pick up a set of headlights to match there.

Id ring around to see if any dealer can still do it under recall. Its not so many years ago that the recall happened.

quick update, i rang nissan ireland and they said they would sort it out for me but i'd have to go through a dealer as they dont deal with the public, which is fair enough.
i went back to the local dealer, who was a bit miffed as he wasnt getting 460 euro outta me and dragged it out for a few weeks. got my lights for free yesterday and the difference compared to the old is unreal! well chuffed, cheers folks
