Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Learn to make music on your computer. Aimed at musicians and non-musicians alike. Using all legal software, this course will suit any and all types of music. Preferable to have own laptop, but not essential. Certificate on completion.

    Daytime course: Wednesday 3rd October - Wednesday 5th December 2012 2:00pm - 4:00pm

    Evening course: Monday 15th October - Monday 17th December 2012 7:00pm - 9:00pm

    100 Euro (deposit in advance required to secure your place)

    Overview of 10-week Make Music on Your Computer Course:
    * Introduction to software, main page, transport, track control panel etc. MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface)
    * Programming Drums and Bass instruments (rhythm section). Editing note length and velocity
    * Programming keyboard and synthesizers. Chords, scales, melody, atmospheres.
    * Recording MIDI using virtual MIDI keyboard, working with the metronome, quantising.
    * Multi-timbral instruments, MIDI channel assignment, polyphony.
    * MIDI controllers, pitch, volume, pan, programme change, note-bending, tempo change.
    * Song construction using Audio Loops.
    * Creating backing tracks using MIDI files. Identifying tracks and applying instruments.
    * Mixer and Effects. Adding final polish to your music.
    * Mixdown. Your music to go on CD, MP3 or OGG
