    Just read a feature on an mk1 Astra in Retro Cars magazine.


    One of the things mentioned in the article was that 1300 bodyshells don’t rust (well I assume not as badly as others). This to me seems very specific. According to Wikipedia this model also came in 1200, 1600, 1800 cc models.


    Was the author being too specific about 1300 models or did he really mean all non GTE models ??


    Perhaps the hot hatch GTE was made in a different factory from the more mundane models and that factory was a bit stingy with the waxoil??
