Anyone thinking of doing this event? Myself & the missus are thinking about entering but doesn't seem to be a very popular event number wise. Im only doing the half as its my first event.

Anyone have much info on it from previous years or how many doing it this year.

I did the ultra last year, its a pretty spectacular run along cliff tops and beaches! You should do yourlong runs in the hills to prepare!

I'll be doing the Ultra as well. Really looking forward to it. Anybody got any advice on footwear for it? Trail shoes or road?

i'd recommend trail runners, i did the marathon last year and i'd say only 10k was on the road, its a beautiful course but there are a lot of dangerous drops, so keep your eyes peeled..

A good portion of the first 13 miles is on road/footpaths but after that its all beach and trail so if you have a pair of trail shoes that you are comfortable in on the road for bit go with them!

Was a brilliant run in fairness..Serious views all the way & a really testing run. Was delighted to finish as it was my first event & raring to get an entry for Dublin half marathon now.

Spectacular route and a really friendly atmosphere. It was much tougher than I was expecting partly because I really messed up my nutrition plan. Had been expecting to get my bag at mile 26 and was running on empty to mile 35.
That aside it was a great experience. Definitely one to be recommended.
