Melody Maker Mod with Telecaster bridge????

    Hey,

    Just wondering if anyone knows or has heard about anyone putting a tele style bridge onto a Gibson Melody Maker? If so please let me know. THe tuneomatic bridge i have at the momemt is doing my head in.

    not yet mate cos i haven't had the best of replies to this. Everyone is against the idea really. The action is doing my head in, i cant find a bridge that will suit what i'm looking for.

    Na man, it's too high at the moment. Had a few lads look at the neck also but It hasn't helped much

    When I say overwrapping or wraparound I mean

    If the action is too high try a a lighter guage string like .09's or even .08's gauge strings sure you'll lose some tone but if you change them regular at least it will make it more comfortable for you to play then you can work your way back up the gauges to get the right balance for you and your playing style/needs, also you could use a harder pick to compensate a little.

    Oh sorry. I have a bridge like that except it has a tun'o'matic bridge incororated into the wraparound bridge. So that might be adding to the height.

    I think you need to get it professionally checked out and set up mark it'll cost you around €40 or €50 but it'll be worth it, if your in dublin theres several places let us know how you get on,
