Hi all. My wifes birthday is coming up soon and I was hoping to buy her something connected with her love of running and exercise in general. She has new runners so that is out of the question but I am open to suggestions. Budget is around the 200€ mark. Thanks in advance

    GPS watch?
    Run holiday?
    Bicycle?
    Swim Lessons?
Sign her up for a foreign marathon (e.g. Barcelona?).
    Some massage sessions?

Thanks buddy. I was particularly thinking of the gps watch but would it be within my budget?

All good idea's but I think if you throw in some safety gear too like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ronhill-Vizion-Bib-Fluorescent-Pink/dp/B00385N7B8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1348008876&sr=8-3 or http://www.amphipod.com/products/visibility/reflective-vests/xinglet-pocket

Pending on how much she is into running http://www.outdoorsmagic.com/product-reviews/alpkit-gamma-headtorch---quick-test/5174.html :D

    A pink GPS watch http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056739216

A framed picture of a notable running achievement like first 1/2 or marathon etc.

Maybe a running book. http://corkrunning.blogspot.ie/p/books.html (Racing Weight would not be a good idea)

Absolutely. If you look at the Forerunner 110 thread, Amphibiankingwest is going to sell some (when they're available) for 125 euro. You'd still have plenty left over to buy a massage!

If she has no GPS watch, and you have 200 to spend, that would be my first choice.

Also, does she have good quality technical running gear, like compression shorts, a winter top ?

    would she like some ?

She has all that gear alright. The more I think about it the more I'm leaning towards the gps watch. She would get great use out if it. Always pestering me about how far is it from our house to x etc!!

Once you've decided on the gps watch, now you have to try and decide on which one. :)

You'll get a bunch of suggestions, you need to think about what sort of functionality would she use, will she analyse it to the nth degree or like to configure the watch to show different fields, avg pace, speed, distance, time, lap time, heart rate, etc, etc.
You'll also probably want to consider size for the ladies - some of the watches are quite large and bulky, think the Garmin 305, 405 or the Timex Run Trainer, so maybe the Garmin 10/110/210 is the way to go, again, it will depend on what features you think she'll want.

Check out dcrainmaker site for all gps reviews & comparisons.
